During the course of 2010 there will be some significant changes to the literary scene in North-East Scotland. The month-long festival of new literature in performance, previously called Wordfringe, will this year be called New Words 2010, and take place during September instead of May. Under the new name, the festival will continue to hold varied events at venues throughout Aberdeen City and Shire, bringing the best of new literature to a wide audience across the region.
Details of the New Words festival will appear on the website www.newwords.co.uk as the festival approaches.
The activities of Wordfringe as an agency promoting and supporting new writing throughout the year will also continue, but under the new name North East Writers. Services including the event noticeboard and RSS news feed will eventually be transferred to the website www.northeastwriters.co.uk but the existing address www.wordfringe.co.uk will continue to be supported, so you will be able to use either.
Many thanks for your continued support. We hope to see you at the new festival in September and at literary events in North-East Scotland throughout the year.
