Peter Urpeth's first novel, Far Inland (Polygon), was published in April 2006. In 2002 he was awarded a Scottish Arts Council New Writers Bursary and previously worked as a journalist and editor.

Jane Routh's new book Teach Yourself Mapmaking is published in September and is a Poetry Book Society Recommendation for the autumn. Maps and charts are a recurrent motif in these poems which journey from Shetland and unknown waters to the landscapes of home.
