Stagecraft Turriff will give readings from the work of Huntly Writers. The evening will offer for your entertainment a varied programme of poetry and plays, crafted by Huntly Writers and interpreted by the popular Stagecraft players.

The Turriff drama group Stagecraft was formed quite a number of years ago and in their time, members of the club have performed to audiences both in the town and, when it went 'on tour', in some rural locations. Their repertoire is an extensive one as the membership is talented in a variety of ways. Members range from the young to the not-so-young, but brought together by a common love of drama, whether it's treading the boards or the essential work behind the scenes.

Concentrating originally on drama, both serious and light, with occasional forays into farce, the group diversified into musical shows and pantomimes; on these occasions, when larger casts are required, extra individuals and school pupils are drafted in, with the result that they may stay on, or, as in the case of the youngsters, develop an interest in drama which helps them later in life.

As well as staging the evergreen favourites like Oklahoma, Me and My Girl and the most recent one, Oliver, to capacity audiences, pantomimes such as Aladdin, Babes in the Wood and Sleeping Beauty ensure light-hearted entertainment during the festive season for Turriff audiences. When not tackling musical, members have entertained with Songs from the Shows, have staged a number of murder mysteries and, in their latest venture, are proud to present a series of readings, the creative writing of Huntly Writers.
