Novelist and poet Michael William Molden was born in Oldham, left school with no qualifications, spent time as a busker inspired by Woody Guthrie's Bound For Glory, attended university, with various jobs filling in the blanks of his varied life.

In March 2007 his company Cauliay Publishing published an anthology Poets Centre Stage, featuring the work of poets who regularly meet at Better Read Books in Ellon, some of them travelling from as far away as Glasgow.
